Get to know the GUTS Tour opening acts
We all know that Olivia Rodrigo is srsly slaying the GUTS Tour right now. (The vocals! The outfits! The dancing! We're fangirling.) And one srsly underrated part of the GUTS mania? The opening acts.
The GUTS Tour features four different openers (with each act taking on different cities): Chappell Roan, Remi Wolf, PinkPantheress and The Breeders. Good 4 u, each opening act is unique and amazing—so you really can't lose no matter who's slated for your concert night.
Here's everything you need to know about these rising stars before you catch them live...
Chappell Roan
Chappell Raon is a total pop princess. She specializes in upbeat, dance-worthy tunes—not to mention that she is always serving a look. Chappell gained mainstream popularity in 2021 when her single "Pink Pony Club" went viral on TikTok.
Last year, Chappell released her first album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. The project tackles themes of sexual identity, unrequited love and finding yourself—all wrapped up in a super fun and campy final product (think early Lady Gaga).
Chappell recently wrapped up her solo tour where she invited three local drag queens from each city she performed in to be her opening acts. If you are lucky enough to have Chappell as your opening act, listen to "Hot To Go!" and be ready to dance!
Remi Wolf
Remi Wolf is testing the limits of pop music...and making hits while doing it. The former Junoir Olympic ski racer and American Idol contestant had her breakthrough moment in 2020 when her song "Photo ID" went viral on TikTok (we still can't get this out of our heads). The song gained even more popularity when the remix was released with Remi's friend and Gen Z star, Dominic Fike.
She recently wrapped up touring with pop-rock group Paramore. The deluxe version of her most recent album Juno came out in 2022.
If you are seeing Remi perform, expect bright colors, disco vibes and a majorly fun time. Listen to "Disco Man" and "wyd" to prepare for this unforgettable performance.
PinkPantheress
PinkPantheress has catchy tunes that blend pop, R&B and dance genres. Like many of the artists on this list, PinkPantheress gained her popularity from TikTok. In 2022, she released the hit song "Boys a Liar," and it quickly gained attention online.
Everything changed for this 22-year-old star when she released a remix titled "Boys a Liar Pt. 2" featuring rapper Ice Spice. The song peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Her song "Angel" was featured in the Barbie soundtrack last summer, too. In November of last year, PinkPantheress released her debut album, Heaven Knows. To prepare for her performance, listen to "Break it Off" and "Blue."
The Breeders
If you're attending a show in L.A. or New York, get ready for a '90s rock throwback. The Breeders are a grunge-rock band that released their first album Pod in 1990. The group gained recognition after the second album, Last Splash.
They opened for Nirvana during their European tour and played at Lollapalooza. Shortly after this, the group disbanded for 24 whole years. Now, the group is back and stronger than ever. They recently toured the for the "Last Splash" 30th anniversary. If you are hearing The Breeders, live listen to "Drivin' on 9" and get ready to rock out!
