Though we’re approaching this summer’s Final Jam, we want to help you rock on this BTS szn!

With Camp Rock 3’s crafty chaos, this band of superstars has us brainstorming all the ways to bedazzle our BTS supplies. Even if you’re just walking between your math and social studies classes, these DIY ideas will give you accessories fit for the Camp Rock stage. 

Whether you’re a fan of Rosie’s glittery cello or Sage’s secret songbook, we’ve got a craft to add to your list of BTS to-dos. 

Sage: Jean Pocket Journal Pouch

With all of Sage’s adorbs denim looks, Liamani might be “one beat away” from her own jean campaign. This DIY combines Sage’s go-to denim fits with her discovery of Mitchie’s secret songbook. 

You’ll need: Jeans, scissors, a hot glue gun and accessories (consider fabric, lace, gems or buttons)!

First, choose a pair of old jeans. DW–we know they can get expensive. If you don’t have your own pair, find affordable choices at a local thrift store! Cut enough fabric around one of the jeans’ pockets to cover the front of your journal. Then, hot glue the pocket over the cover. To finish, hot glue your accessories to the front cover (think: patterned patches cut into fun shapes and buttons lining the jean pocket). Remember to keep your best pens, pencils and highlighters in the front pouch. After you’re done taking class notes in crafty fashion, you might consider filling this BTS journal with a song or two of your own. 

Rosie: Denim Skirt Purse

Like her bedazzled cello, Rosie’s wardrobe underwent a big fashion makeover. Even though a jean skirt might not *scream* purse at first glance, Rosie and her cello prove that unexpected pairings can steal the show. 

You’ll need: A sewing machine, scissors, a hot glue gun, a jean skirt, ribbon and personal accessories (think ribbon, rhinestones, buttons and patterned fabric patches). 

First, pick your jean skirt (psst, steal Sage’s tip and swap the mall for a local thrift store’s prices). Then, cut the skirt until it’s your desired length and sew the base shut. After, measure your ribbon and cut a strap length that allows your purse to hang from your shoulder. To complete your straps, sew the ribbon on opposite sides of your purse. 

Time to accessorize! Belt loops are the perf opportunity for ribbon bows. And denim pockets pair well with patterned fabric patches. Use your hot glue gun to attach any small accessories like rhinestones and buttons. Your thrift flip is the perfect home for your school supplies between classes, whether you’re storing colorful folders, a notebook or perhaps your own cello sheet music. 

Desi: Scrapbook Bookmarks With Your Bestie

Even though we saw Desi and Sage go through their rough patch, Desi’s passion for his band proves he’s all about teamwork. So this DIY is all about being on the same page as your bestie (literally). 

You’ll need: Cardstock, scissors, a hole puncher, your collage pieces (think old magazines, quotes, stickers, ribbon, etc.), glue and a piece of ribbon. 

First, measure and cut out a 2-inch by 6-inch piece of cardstock. Then, search through your scrap material and arrange your desired pieces in a collage. Once you’ve got your design, glue your collage down on the cardstock. To create your tassel, hole punch the top of your bookmark and thread your ribbon through the hole. To complete the craft in full Desi-style, you’ll want to either recruit (or surprise) your BFF with their own bookmark craft (bonus points if your collages end up matching)!  

Fletch: Altoid Tin Wallet

Even with all eyes on him, Fletch managed to bring some secrets to Camp Rock. And this DIY is the discreet key to hiding all your *secret* treasures.  

You’ll need: An empty Altoid tin, scissors, decorative paper, glue and anything you want to decorate the inside walls (lace, mini photographs, stickers, etc.). 

First, trace the top and bottom of your tin on your background paper (make sure to label both)! Cut out your tracings and glue them into your tin. Then, complete this process for the lid of your tin wallet. Then, start personalizing! Popular designs often glue lace around the lid, print out mini photos for the inside and select favorite stickers to decorate the tin treasure chest. Your Altoid wallet can hold lip gloss, wired headphones, cash, hair ties and the small essentials you’d want to have in your jean pocket during the school day (minus the clutter)! 

Cliff: Personalized Notebook Cover

Whether it’s freestyling his own beats or getting stuck in a canoe, you can trust that Cliff is going to go his own (hilarious) way. So we have no doubt he’d make it his mission to personalize even the most basic of BTS items. 

You’ll need: A notebook, scissors, glue, decorative paper and any accessories you desire.

First, place your notebook against the decorative paper and trace out the front cover. Then, cut and glue your cover sheet to the front. Once you have your background, print Pinterest images to collage overtop (the more patterns, the better). Use accessories like ribbon to line the spine of your notebook and add those extra personal touches (might we suggest your initials in rhinestones?).

Taking inspo from Cliff means your collage should be all about bouncing “to the beat of [your] own drum.” So if your own drum tells you to include ten different colors or patterns in your design, go for it! A cover that’s true to you is sure to turn heads.
