Show of hands: Who’s feeling completely freaked about graduating? If your mental state is currently giving excited, overwhelmed and utterly terrified all at the same time, you’re in good company.
To ease those pre-ceremony jitters, we’re rounding up the witticisms, wisdom and words of encouragement from the best onscreen senior sendoffs (and yes, this doubles as your highly sentimental sleepover watchlist). You got this, grad!
Never Have I Ever

The vibe: Popular heartthrob Paxton confesses that he’s done coasting by on his charm and credits Devi for teaching him that there’s nothing cooler than putting in effort.
The life lesson: For the gals who’ve always been able to make the grade, the team and the prom court without too much hustle, what lies ahead might require some extra oomph. Pair your natural talent with a killer work ethic and prepare to be unstoppable.
The unforgettable quote: “Things came really easily for me because I was dope at swimming and, according to the yearbook, I’m kind of pretty. But then someone showed me how to push myself.”
Legally Blonde

The vibe: After winning a court case, turning a rival into a bestie and proving practically everyone at Harvard wrong (“What, like it’s hard?”), Elle had no shortage of accomplishments to brag about. Yet she uses her big speech to remind her fellow graduates to never underestimate their abilities.
The life lesson: Be humble, but not *too* humble. The key to Elle’s achievements? Her unabashed self-confidence. Carry an “I can handle anything” attitude into your next chapter (a pink blazer wouldn’t hurt either), and you’ll stun in lectures, libraries and everywhere in between.
The unforgettable quote: “You must always have faith in people, and most importantly, you must always have faith in yourself.”
Stranger Things

The vibe: We expected a healthy disrespect for authority and at least a few D&D references from Henderson. What we never saw coming was his soft side on full display, too, as he gave props to all the unlikely friends he made while The Party was saving the entire universe.
The life lesson: Order can be overrated (Eddie Munson and the Hellfire Club have approved this message). Life will always get turned upside down in strange yet wonderful ways—that’s called growth.
The unforgettable quote: “Good chaos can bring innovation. Change. And this school, frankly, it needed to change. Because we were so divided into the jocks, the nerds, the freaks. And in the chaos, all those walls broke down.”
Gilmore Girls

The vibe: Despite Sookie’s very strict “no blubbering” policy, everyone’s shedding a few tears at Rory’s poignant shoutout to her mom (even tough guy Luke).
The life lesson: Thank the village that helped you get where you are now. Behind every successful student is a supportive parent/teacher/coach who gave a pump-up pep talk, flipped through flashcards or showed up for you in ways you didn’t even notice at the time (aka picked you up from practice or stocked the fridge during finals week).
The unforgettable quote: “My ultimate inspiration comes from my best friend, the dazzling woman from whom I received my name and my life’s blood, Lorelai Gilmore.”
High School Musical 3: Senior Year

The vibe: Not quite sure what first set off our goose-bumps—the choral rendition of “We’re All In This Together,” everyone’s red and white fits perfectly forming the shape of a wildcat or that heart-melting look Troy flashes Gabriella from the podium.
The life lesson: Break out of your bubble. The playmaker himself points out that a jock can whip up a killer crème brûlée and a brainiac can tear up a dance floor. That means *you* should show off all your sides—especially the unexpected ones.
The unforgettable quote: “East High is a place where teachers encouraged us to break the status quo and define ourselves as we choose.”
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

The vibe: Put all that love triangle drama on pause for a sec, kay? Jessica’s refreshingly human commencement address says exactly what everyone’s thinking when they don a cap and gown: I have no idea what I’m doing.
The life lesson: Screw up. Then repeat. There will be times in life where you aren’t sure which path is right (aka decisions slightly more difficult than Team Edward vs. Team Jacob). Take solace in the fact that trying…and failing…then trying again is actually how you find yourself.
The unforgettable quote: “Make as many mistakes as you can. That way, someday when they ask what we want to be, we won’t have to guess. We’ll know.”
