9 must-haves to add to your closet for this season
With Christmas music playing, the weather getting colder and holiday decorations coming out, we are def in the holiday spirit. If the “2021 Winter Essentials” TikToks and aesthetic Instagram outfit pics are making you want a wardrobe refresh (or just some new amaze clothes), we’ve got you covered. From slippers to jackets, we’ve narrowed down ALL of the essentials for your closet this season.
1. Loungewear
Nothing is better than putting on your comfiest clothes after school to just relax at home. The Gap never disappoints when it comes to not only comfortable clothes but cute ones.
2. Cozy slippers
Is it even the holidays without cozy slippers?! We love Ugg slippers. In our opinion, the only way you can go wrong with cozy slippers (or fuzzy socks) is by not having some.
3. Sherpa jacket
We’re pretty sure sherpa jackets will never go out of style for winter. So if you’re looking for a new one, anything cream or lightly colored is a must. It will go with everything, be extremely cozy and make your fit *so* adorable.
4. Wide-leg jeans
If you are a strict pants person and don’t want to wear a dress or skirt to any holiday events, a pair of jeans might do the trick. They’re classy and so cute! These jeans from Zara are perfect for any event.
5. Sweaters
If you’re going for a winter cottage-core/Rory Gilmore vibe, then a cozy chunky sweater belongs in your wardrobe. You can buy one from any local thrift store, or check this one out from H&M.
6. Plain sweatshirts
A sweatshirt is perfect for any outfit during winter. They should definitely be a go-to, and a plain color allows for so many more options. Whether you want to pair it with a skirt, jeans or just sweat pants, you really can’t go wrong.
Aerie mock neck sweatshirt, $55
7. Puffer coat
A puffer coat basically defines winter fashion. Who says it doesn’t need to be cute? We’ve found an adorable option for some puffer coat inspo from H&M.
H&M cropped puffer Jacket, $148
8. Shoes (that will go with everything)
The loafers trend does not seem to be going anywhere soon, so if you don't want to wear only sneakers this winter, then maybe consider getting a pair. Here are our faves from Zara that will match all of your outfits.
9. Something dressy
You will definitely need a fancier outfit sometime during the holidays. In this instance, the simpler, the better because it will allow you to pair it with basically anything. We LOVE this dress from Francesca’s.
Francesca's star print dress, $38
