Yes, you can wear makeup with a mask (and look good doing it)
Stating the seriously obvious here, but when you are wearing a mask correctly (and you are, right?) all anyone sees is the top half of your face. Cue the perfect excuse to bust out some *major* eye looks. “It’s important to do what makes you feel good during these times—and makeup can be the perfect pick-me up,” explains celebrity makeup artist Sarah Nelson, who created these bold looks.
Mask and makeup pairings (or, the trend you never knew you needed)
Rock a rainbow

For this gorgeous, multi-hued lid, Nelson used the Aether Beauty Joshua Tree Palette. “I started lining the upper and lower lash lines, just at the outer corners, with the brown shade to create a winged effect,” she says. Add streaks of pink, yellow, violet, blue and orange with a dense brush to keep the color vibrant. (Fun fact: You can wet shadow with a drop of water and it’ll apply more like paint.) Don’t be too precious about where you place each color—just do what feels natural. Then define your lashes with a coat of mascara.

Golden glow

Throw bronzed goddess vibes with warm-toned metallics. Start by blending a golden shadow to your crease with a fluffy brush for a subtle smoky effect. Skip the liner and add the same shadow under your lash line for a diffused look. “For a little sparkle, I layered a deeper, shimmery bronze shade all over the lid, and a tiny bit on the lower lash line,” Nelson says. Pair with an animal print mask, because cheetah is *totally* a neutral.

Dusty pink eyes are so pretty for fall. Nelson created this look using the Pixi Beauty Eye Heart Palette. “I swept the deep peach tone all over the lid, up into the crease and along the lower lash line, and blended it all out,” Nelson reveals. Then she applied the vibrant pink shade with an angled brush close to the upper and lower lashes to line the eyes. Finish off the look with a touch of champagne shimmer in the inner corners and under the brow bone for that hint of highlight.

Icy ombre

Chill out by pairing these cool jewel tones together. Pat purple shimmer from the inner corner of your eye to the center of your lid with your finger. Then, using a small pencil brush, add the same shade along the lower lash line. Next, apply the shimmering baby blue shadow from the center of the lid to the outer corner. Pro tip: Use a clean brush to blend at the outer corner to elongate your eye shape, then lightly blend the two colors together in the center of the lid for an ombre effect.

And three more looks we love…
HOT PINK LASHES

Electrify your lashes with a swipe of bright fuchsia. If you have dark lashes, you might need to prime them with a white mascara primer first. Once that’s dry, apply a few coats of pink on your top lashes, bottom lashes, or both, depending on the look you’re going for.

BOLD BROWS

“Put down the tweezers, because full bushy brow looks are having a moment,” says celebrity makeup artist Ash K Holm. He loves to fill in brows first with the pencil side of the Nudestix Eyebrow Stylus Pencil & Gel before flipping it over to fan them out with the gel in small, short strokes.

IN-YOUR-FACE LINER

If perfectly blended eyeshadow is too low-key for you, go full-on graphic with neon liner. This look is all about the sharp angles, so choose a waterproof liquid liner and apply it with an angled brush to keep things crisp.
