Selena Gomez's new makeup line is *all* about raising mental health awareness

It's true! Selena Gomez's new makeup line, Rare Beauty, *just* launched on Sept. 3. The best part? Selena is donating a portion of all Rare Beauty sales to her new Rare Impact Fund, with a goal to donate over $100 million in mental health services to underserved communities over the next 10 years.

The "Rare" singer spoke with The Cut about her new makeup line, and the importance of standing up for mental health awareness. Selena said talking to her young fans played a role in her desire to take on traditional beauty standards.

“It flabbergasted me how these young girls need to feel like they have to be a certain way," she told The Cut. "I wanted to break that mold. I don’t judge you—wear your makeup however you want to wear it. But what I’m realizing is that it’s beyond that. It’s about how you feel inside. I still work on it. I’m not perfect by any means. I have moments when I’ll be like, Ugh. No.

Selena has always been open about her own struggles with mental health—including anxiety and depression—and her hope to help others in their journeys.

Rare Beauty is also skin-tone inclusive, with 48 shades of foundation and concealer, and a shade finder on the Rare Beauty website.

Plus, every product has a self-love inspired name, like Always an Optimist Illuminating Primer, $26, or With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm (with shades like Blessed, Thankful and Praise), $16.

You can find Rare Beauty foundations, concealers, blushes, eyeliners and lip colors—plus tools and primers!—on the Rare Beauty website, as well as Sephora.
