Old Hollywood energy was everywhere on the red carpet this fall. Channel it with jewels, cat-eyes, glowy skin and a classic crimson lip (then go accept your next Grammy).

The makeup: The key to this look: Lit-from-within skin. Apply a light-reflecting primer before your foundation, advises makeup artist Katya Bychkova. Add bronzer high on your cheekbones and temples. Sweep blush onto the apples of your cheeks. Finally, create a cat-eye by placing a dot of liquid liner where you want your feline flick to start and end. "Use the dots as a guide to make your line even and smooth," Bychkova shares. Finish with a long-wear red liquid lipstick.

The nails: Holiday party manis? Go big or stay home. Over-the-top press-ons are a no-brainer way to add some bling. Drop a dot of nail glue in the center of the press-on, then apply it starting just above the cuticle. Dare to DIY? Add a touch of nail glue to some rhinestones, then scatter them across your nails.

Crazy Colorful

@stormreid

If Do Revenge taught us anything, it's to add a saturated liner to our look (and top it off with a pastel beret, ofc). Get creative with vibrant shadows, neon lipstick and a multi-colored mani.

The makeup: "I love using unexpected shades for the holidays," says Milk Makeup Director of Artistry Sara Wren. Use a brush to add a bit of Barbie pink or seafoam green to the inside corners of your eyes (or blend the color all over your lid to match your outfit for a monochrome moment). Want to keep it more subtle? "Mascara is an easy way to add color without going overboard," says Bychkova. And when truly in doubt, just bring a pop of color to your pout.

The nails: Hack some nail art by adding strips of metallic nail tape to a dry mani (seal the deal with topcoat). Or upgrade a French by alternating bright colors on each tip (use tape to cover the area of your nail you don't want painted, then add polish on the tip). "Use two coats for the ultimate color payoff," says nail artist Brittney Boyce. Let is dry, remove the tape and finish with a clear coat.

Indie Aughts

Show off your emo side with a grungier spin on Y2K classics. Start with liner and mascara (take it next level with a set of lower lash falsies), then add shimmer to keep it merry and bright.

The makeup: To line your waterline and tightline (that's the space closer to your actual eyeball, right inside your lash line), use one fingertip to lift your lid away from your eye. Gently fill in the space with a waterproof black liner. "This makes your eyes look bright," says Wren. Next, apply a few coats of volumizing mascara on your top lashes and some falsies on the bottom. "Look for lashes that come in small patches instead of strips," says Bychkova. Carefully apply each cluster with a touch of clear lash glue, filling out the entire lash line.

The nails: Black, glittery nails are the perfect balance between pretty and edgy. "Sprinkle a loose, shimmery pigment on top of wet polish so the glitter gets dispersed throughout," advises Boyce. Not down to DIY? A shimmery charcoal polish gives you a similar effect.

Quirky and Cool

@kylieghcurran

Channel Olivia Rodrigo (think: sweet-and-sour whimsy) with mismatched nails paired with dreamy blush and shadow shades. It's the perfect out-of-the-box party look.

The makeup: "Lilac makeup is one of the hottest Y2K trends," says Bychkova. Wear it as a liner or shadow—or add glow to your cheekbones with an iridescent purple highlighter. "The blown-out- blush is also so cool right now," says Wren. "Apply a cream blush high up on your cheeks and up toward your temples, using the warmth of your fingers to blend it into the skin." Keep the rest of your makeup minimal, Bychkova suggests. "Brush your brows, apply a clean base and a nude lip. Let the color speak for itself."

@aliciatnails

The nails: Nail art decals and stickers create a mix-and-match look with minimal effort. Use tweezers to place decals on dry, polished nails, pat down with your finger then seal it in with a topcoat. For an updated take on the polka-dot trend, create a confetti effect with a few coats of colorful glitter.
