The hottest trends from New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week kicked off on Friday, and we've already spotted some major trends from this Spring/Summer 2023 season. Designers and fashion lovers are slaying the streets of New York rn (Runways! Parties! Street Style!). So we're giving you the deets on how you can slay these trends for yourself. Your inner fashionista is activating, we know!

Barbie pink

@lagencefashion

Barbiecore is the moment (Margot Robbie's pink cowgirl set lives rent-free in our minds), and NYFW is bursting with monochrome magenta lewks. From L'AGENCE to Alice + Olivia to Badgley Mischka, the pinks are poppin', and we could not be more obsessed. Lucky for you, Barbie makes it pretty easy to channel her vibe. Just pick up a bubblegum-pink bag or slip on some fuschia-colored footwear, and you're ready to make every sidewalk your own personal runway.

Metallics

@karlieross

Want to make a notable fashion statement? Then you have to add metallic to your closet. Metallic gives a subtle but sophisticated vibe that's taking over the runway this year. (We can't help but think of Kim Kardashian in metallic—she wears it so effortlessly!) To own this trend, try starting with a pair of metallic gold or silver pants for a stylish, retro aesthetic. You can even pair a plain T-shirt with metallic boots for a bold pop.

Chunky shoes

Chunky shoes are *it* this NYFW! Whether you're wearing a heel or bootie, a chunky platform adds playful pizzazz. Not to mention that wearing chunky shoes lets you channel your inner model. Pair this eye-catching footwear with a puff-sleeve dress (we heart a feminine frock on top to offset any harsh edges) and prepare to feel fabulous!

Fringe

It's the roaring twenties again, babes, and fringe is totally back. Designers are *def* getting inspo from the flappers of ye olden days this year. They proved that fringe is perfect for any occasion—Jason Wu is giving classy nighttime looks, while Bronx and Banco is showing off festival-worthy fits. If you're wanting to take on this trend, you could try a subtle fringe accessory, like a crossbody fringe purse or tassel belt. Or go all out and rock a full-fringe party dress!
