Family Party Outfits

I don’t know what to wear to my family party! They’re really strict about how I dress. Do you have any cute ideas?
The holidays are here, which means heading over the river and through the woods to Grandma’s. Obvi, the sequin mini and sky-high heels just won’t do. Pick dresses with higher necklines and longer skirts.
Dress ‘em up with holiday musts (like fun tights and gorgeous accessories) and get ready to have fun with the fam!
Avoid the tiny dresses and opt for a frock with ¾ sleeves and a demure skirt. Ruffles or pleats keep it pretty, not plain. Pull on tights and flats, and it’ll be conservative enough to be approved by the whole crew.

Party Time Party Dress, $30, lulus.com

Need color? A bright obi belt adds extra cheer and shows off your waist, without being overkill (or too revealing).

A bow is perf for the holidays! Adds a bit of sparkle to a low bun or sleek pony. Sooo pretty, and an appropriate nod to your sassy style.

Retro-inspired dresses are a fab idea, too. They tend to be more conservative, but still pack plenty of punch. If yours is sleeveless, find a bolero to pull over it. Skip trendy lace tights and pull on your fave black pair.

Accordion Pleat Dress, $28, forever21.com

Keeping your arms covered makes the fam happy and keeps you warm on a chilly night. Plus, these sleeves let you show off your fave cuffs.

Say What Cropped Bolero, $19, dillards.com

Why not add a li’l shine on your feet? If that won’t fly, pull on a couple gold vintage-y bracelets.
