Your 15-minute ready routine

Time-saving tricks to get you out the door, pronto

Riiing! It’s 7 a.m. and your alarm is blaring! You overslept—again! Before you roll out of bed and onto the bus in your Hello Kitty PJs, we’ll show you how to pull off a polished look in fifteen minutes or less. Don’t believe us? Set a timer and GO!!!

7 a.m. Hit the shower. Skip the shampoo and conditioner this time around (put your hair up in a bun while ya shower) and don’t shave (don’t worry, no one will notice but you). To save extra time, brush your teeth and wash your face while you’re in the shower.

7:05 a.m. Get dressed. Simplicity is key here. If you have a favorite go-to outfit, now's the time to wear it. Update the classic jeans-and-a-T-shirt look with your best pair of dark jeans and a colorful graphic T-shirt. Want comfy kicks? Throw on your fave flats or sneaks.

7:08 a.m. Eat breakfast. No morning routine is complete without the most important meal of the day. Even if you can’t sit down to enjoy a bowl of cereal, grab a piece of fruit, like an apple, or a healthy breakfast bar and a bottle of OJ or H2O to take with you on the bus. Your body will thank you later.

7:12 a.m. Apply the basics. You don’t have time to create a full cover girl look, so opt for the essentials. Two coats of mascara and a light pink lip gloss should do the trick. Brush your hair into a low side ponytail for a pretty preppy look that takes no effort at all.

7:15 a.m. Catch that bus!

Helpful Hints:

The more you prepare in the p.m.—packing your lunch, laying out your clothes and showering—the less you have to do in the a.m.

Keep important items, such as your backpack and lunchbox, in the same place so you don’t waste time looking for them in the morning.

Set a backup alarm on your cell phone before you go to sleep. You never know when the power might go out, which means your clock may never go off.

Try going to sleep earlier. You’re less likely to oversleep, plus you’ll feel refreshed and energized!
