Sad Over a Backstab

Your bestie tells you she doesn’t want to be friends anymore, and you don’t know how to deal.  You start skipping classes and ditching your other friends, but you know that's unhealthy.

How do you deal with the situation and get your BFF back?

Last Friday, my best friend said she didn’t want to be my friend anymore because I’ve been mean lately and have been hurting her feelings. I don’t know what I did, but she won’t let me text or talk to her. We were friends for more than four years and now she had to mess it all up.

Now, she is trying to act like she is having a lot of fun with her friends when she’s really not and she is trying to make me jealous. I am missing P.E. any day that my friend isn’t there because I don’t want to hang out with my other friends and I just want to be with my one best friend but she has been doing different stuff. But now I feel so embarrassed because I haven’t gone to P.E. at all this week.

BFF Fix-it: Sounds to me like you are doing your part to apologize and fix your relationship but she isn’t doing her part.  Next time you see her simply say “hi,” do not bombard her with questions or seem desperate. You both have other friends than each other and she is taking full advantage of hers. Try hanging out with your other friends, they will support you and help you out when you are feeling down. Wouldn't wanna lose them, would ya?

Never skip any classes because of someone who will or will not be there.  Enjoy yourself, you're a great smart, chica! If your BFF wants to be friends again she will eventually come around and want to talk. If she doesn't get over it, no worries. Get on out there and make some new pals who appreciate you for who you are!
