A Good Night's Rest

We are all way too busy for sleep, right? With homework assignments, exams, sports, clubs, dance classes and babysitting, there is never enough time to catch up on the much-needed zzz's. It sometimes feels like as soon as we close our eyes, Mr. Sun is ready to kick us outta our beds, ya know?

Well listen up, ladies! Not only is it important to catch some shut eye, but it needs to be quality rest.

An article from The Washington Post reported that sleep not only protect us from sickness and disease, but it also helps us to develop important and creative memory skills.

Researchers found that people who take naps are more likely to have a better memory than those who don't. Scientists took a group of students and taught them a list of Chinese words. The students who took naps were able to recognize some of the Chinese characters they had memorized pre-nap.

Another study showed that the quality of sleep plays a role in memory. Scientists played a beeping noise while study participants took naps. The peeps who were subjected to the beeps had trouble remembering what they learned the day before.

So remember, girlies, that getting a good night's rest is vital to your health.
