This cuh-razy good dirt dessert will fulfill all your sweet tooth dreams

This Earth Day, we’re going back to the basics. A cup o’ dirt is a tradition we first discovered during a Girl Scout camp-out, and we’ve been gobbling it up by the cupful ever since. Make it for your babysitting charges (with Mom or Dad’s approval first, of course), bring it in to school for a before-the-bell treat or spoon it up after supper for the whole family.
Ingredients:
  • 1 package of instant chocolate pudding, prepared according to directions
  • 15 chocolate crème sandwich cookies, like Oreos
  • 1 package gummy worms

Directions:

1. Place the cookies in a sealed plastic bag and squeeze out the air. Use a rolling pin or the bottom of a pan to crush them into cookie crumbles.

2. Stir half of the cookie crumbles into the pudding.

3. Spoon the pudding mixture into your serving bowl. You can do individual serving cups or, for a party, try scooping it into a clean clay flower pot. Stick a fake blossom in the top and serve it up with a spade or toy shovel instead of a spoon.

4. Toss a few gummy worms in the top (or stir them into the mixture). Pour the rest of the cookies on top. Eat up!
