Dave: Random high-fives? Sounds serious. But, seriously, you are going about it perfectly. There’s no doubt the hints and high-fives are being noted by him and things will continue to progress. At some point, however, others in school will also notice how tight the two of you have become with the hand gestures and whatnot. So whether you say it or not, folks will talk. 

Bill: Sounds like he already thinks you’re pretty cool. You just need to figure out a way to get him to see you as more than a friend. Ask him to do something fun (see if he wants to go to a game or stop by a party with you) then see how it goes. Pay some special attention to him and he’ll start thinking of you as someone special. Don’t tell him how you feel. Show him!
