How to start a biz with your bestie
Start with an idea
Find something you two are really passionate about and see if there is any way to create a business from it. If you’re lacking in the idea category, here’s a few to get you started: jewelry, crafts, candle making or baked goods.
Pitch it to your parents
Write up a business plan and show it to your parents. You’re most likely going to need some help from them in some aspect of your business, so make sure they are willing to help first.
Gather up some goods
No matter what business you start, it’s going to require some materials. You might need cooking supplies, or paint, so make sure you’re willing to spend a little bit of money on these things. Splitting the price between the two of you won’t be so bad, and if all goes well, you’ll make this money back, plus more!
Practice what you’re selling
You want to make sure you become an expert at your business, so get lots of practice in. If you’re making jewelry, try all different styles. If you’re making baked goods, try all different recipes. Find the best options before you put them on the market.
Start advertising
Tell your parents to tell their friends, make some flyers, and post about your business on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Without showing people what ya got, you won’t start selling anything. Make sure as many people know as possible.
Stay organized
You can’t run a business, even a small summer one, without staying extremely organized. You’ll have to manage money, clients, and creating your good. Split the work up between you and your babe to make sure everything is getting done.
