6 flicks we're thankful we don't live in

With Turkey Day approaching, we feel it’s time to reflect on the things we are most thankful for. While our list has plenty of meaningful items like friends and family, we can’t help but add some slightly sillier things…like being thankful for NOT living in the world of some of our fave movies! Read on to see which flicks we’re talking about.

    Mean Girls

Doesn’t the title say enough?! The overall message that girls can get over their cliques and all get along is great, but we would have hated to live through what Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) had to put up with. From backstabbing buds to downright BF stealing, we’re plenty thankful we don’t go to Northshore High where Regina George (Rachel McAdams) and the Pinks prowl.

    Twilight

While we worship this amazing series, we will admit that having vampires thirst after your blood while fighting over you with a pack of werewolves hardly sounds like our idea of fun. Plus, how in the heck are we supposed to choose between Edward and Jacob? We’ll leave that whole situation to Bella and gladly take a seat in the theater to watch rather than participate.

    13 Going On 30

It would be so cool to glimpse into our future lives…but really, that’s something that shouldn’t be messed with. Plus, isn’t life all about surprises? In this movie, Jenna (Jennifer Gardner) ends up benefiting from going into the future. She’s able to turn her life around and find the right guy. But in real life, we think it’s much better to just live every day as it comes.

    She’s The Man

This flick made the list because we just have to acknowledge how tough it would be to be roomies with the gorgeous Channing Tatum while trying to keep up the charade that you’re a guy! Not only that, but you’d also have to deal with girls having crushes on you because they think you’re a GUY. Too tiring!

    The Devil Wears Prada

Here at GL, we can respect a good movie about the life of working for a magazine…but we’re beyond glad working at GL is nothing like this movie! No matter how hard Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) tries, her evil boss finds a way to make her feel terrible either about herself or her choices. Whew, thankfully we’ve got Karen and not Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep).

    Just My Luck

Ashley Albright (Lindsay Lohan) may be the luckiest lady in Manhattan at the start of this flick, but boy, do things change. After she kisses not-so-lucky Jake Hardin (Chris Pine) at a party, her life is turned upside down. Eventually, the unlikely pair work things out…but it would be no fun to go from riches to rags in two seconds.
