Season of giving: Say thanks with a holiday card

It doesn’t matter who you are, from the Grinchiest Scrooge to Santa himself—we all want to be remembered during the holidays. Sit down with your sibs, your sweeties or your sitting charges and get creative, chica! It’s time to say hello, how are you, thanks and, of course season’s greetings.

Here’s an idea…

Hand deliver them to a nursing home. Sing carols with seniors, chat about holidays past, play winter-themed Scrabble and have a ball.

Mail them to the troops through the Red Cross’ Holiday Mail for Heroes program.

Send one to someone you admire, whether it’s an author you adore, a local restaurateur who goes out of her way to make your meals allergy-free, your congressman (or woman!) or your so-sweet dentist.

Say thanks to a local charity. It doesn’t matter if you volunteer with them or not, a charity would love to hear about how they’ve impacted your life and community.

Get your class to cheer on teachers and school staff. Make it your mission to give every adult in your school a card before you head home for winter break.
