MaryMargaret O'Neill proves kids really are heroes
You might not be brandishing a magic wand at Hogwarts or reading
minds like Edward Cullen, but you certainly do have a super power up your sleeve: the power of giving. Twelve-year-old
MaryMargaret O'Neill is trying to spread the word—and with her nonprofit organization
Kids Are Heroes, she’s doing a darn good job of it.
To date, Kids Are Heroes has 240 “heroes” around the world, from the U.S. to England to Indonesia. Its website, kidsareheroes.org, shares stories from tweens and teens who are actively making a big different in their communities and across the globe. The message? It doesn’t matter how young you are, how much money you have or how many important people you know. Anyone can help save the world, anyone at all.
Do you want to see for yourself just how incredible the
power of giving is? Log on to kidsareheroes.org and take inspiration from what
other tweens ‘n’ teens your age are doing. Get your friends involved, your
class, your school, your neighborhood, your entire city! There’s no limit to
what you can do.
