Give your room a fall refresher

If your room has ya yawning before bedtime, it might be time to switch things up. A quick brainstorm left us with a list of 12 so-easy (and totally inexpensive) ways to give your space a much-needed facelift.

A fresh coat of paint. Whether you paint the whole room in a weekend or settle for an accent wall, a new color will reset your bedroom’s vibe.

New photos. Spend an afternoon snapping pics with your sweeties, then use a service like Snapfish to print ‘em out. Blow them up into posters or collage tiny pics all-over.

Pillow swap! You don’t have to buy new bedding to give your bed a refresher. Simply head to the store (homewares or fabric) and buy or make yourself a few new throw pillows in bold colors and fun prints.

Move it. Ask Mom and Dad to lend some muscle as you move your furniture around. It’ll feel 100-percent new-to-you!

Wall art. These days, you can the coolest works of art that stick to your wall just like window decals…and come off again just as easily. Shop around. Etsy.com is our fave.

Unroll a rug. No, not the ancient Oriental in your Grandma’s dining room! A floor rug can add a bright splash of color, and create spaces in your room for doing different things, like sleeping, studying and hanging with friends.

Lose your lampshade… and get a new one. Try a fresh shape on for size, or a dazzling color.

Tidy up. No, ya don’t have to spring clean, but at stores like Target and Staples, you can get some funky and fancy containers for all your goodies that’ll liven up your pad.
