I can't stop comparing myself to others

Sometimes I just can't stop comparing myself to others, and it's really starting to get to me. I don't like my voice, the way I talk, how I look, my weird walk, what I say... Me, basically. Everyone around me is sooo beautiful and perfect, and I'm just not. What can I do to learn how to love me?

Everyone has insecurities and no one is perfect (we swear!). We all go through times when we when don’t feel oh-so-hot about our bodies or other aspects of ourselves. The key is not to let it get ya down!

Hey, pretty girl!

Since nobody’s perfect, we’re thinking you’re probably judging the gorgeous girls around you a lot less harshly than you judge yourself. This isn’t an invitation to start picking out your friends’ flaws. Instead, we want you to revise the unrealistic standards you set for yourself. Hate your legs? Consider the great things they let you do—dancing, running, swimming!

Deep thoughts

Why are you so hard on yourself? We bet you’re a really great girl, and we’re thinking your friends, peers, teachers, coaches and family members would agree with us. Instead of zeroing in on the things you hate, focus on the things you love about yourself, like your eclectic style or crazy curls. Showing yourself some love will go a long way to improve your self-image and your self-confidence. Remember, when you exude confidence—even if you aren’t feeling it on the inside just yet—people around you will think you’re all the more fab. Not-so-big secret? You totally are, you just need to see it.

You’re unique—embrace it

During adolescence, it’s totally normal to want to blend in. The catch is that each and every once of us is 100-percent unique. We couldn’t blend in if we tried, and that’s a great thing! Your voice, the things you say and the way you look and the way you walk—that’s what makes you you. It’s time to embrace it, own it and rock it.

Tell us, babes: When you’re feeling down about yourself, what perks you up in jiffy?
