Be more than a tourist this summer

If your family is planning to take a trip this summer, see if you can add a bit of volunteering into your vacation plans. You’ll enjoy all the fun in the sun a girl could want, with the added bonus of doing a bit of good for the community your visiting.

There are numerous travel companies that specialize in helping you volunteer while you’re on vacay. This new trend, called voluntourism, sets up ah-mazing experiencing, like ziplining through the rain forest one day, and on another, you could be helping build a school or planting coral. How cool is that?

One of our favorite companies is Road Less Traveled. This summer, they’re running a bunch of different excursions, spanning 1 to 4 weeks. Some are trips for groups of teens, while others are 100-percent family friendly. From whitewater rafting in Norway to snorkeling in Ecuador, RLT offers adventures we normally only dream about.

Well, you better start dreaming, babes, ‘cause the trip of a lifetime is closer than you think! Our buds at RLT are offering GL readers a discount code. Enter the code RLT/GLM for a $300 on trips that are still available.
