Stress less during the finals

We know everyone’s counting down ’til the blissful days of summer. But before you can be totally carefree, there’s one last hurdle: finals. Here’s how to stay cool as a cuke in the pressure cooker that is exams.

Don’t cram
Studying in spaced-out increments will help you retain information easily. Take small 10-minute breaks to walk around around and get some fresh air. Start studying ASAP to avoid any last-minute mania.

Make lists
Ask yourself what needs to get done and when. Once you organize all the due dates for projects and tests, make a list of three to five tasks to do each day for the week leading up to the test or assignment due date. Keep the list with you in a planner or notebook so you can reference it whenever you need. Color-coding your list with bright colors will give your list an ounce of cheer, too.

Take advantage of the weather
You can’t stay cooped up in your house studying all day, so take advantage of the warm weather by taking a brisk walk around your block as a study break. Have a lot of reading to do? Enjoy the sunshine as you read out on your front porch or deck.

Avoid the junk
It’s tempting to constantly crunch on candy while you’re studying. In a word: Don’t! Making healthful choices (like sipping lots of water and getting plenty of sleep) will help you get through this stressful period while still feeling fab.

Get in a zen zone
Take time to stay chill by practicing yoga, writing in your journal or meditating for a few minutes daily. It’ll prevent you from getting utterly overwhelmed. Good luck, girl!
