Senior year is about to become one giant blur of firsts, lasts and a bajillion selfies, so why not save a little piece of it before graduation sneaks up on you? From your first-day schedule and current fave playlist to a handwritten note from your besties, we’re rounding up 10 tiny pieces of senior-year lore to seal away now and rediscover after you graduate (we’re not crying, promise!).
Grab an old shoebox, storage tin or whatever container you have lying around, decorate it with stickers, rhinestones and Sharpies and let the scavenging commence…
Your first-day pic
YK the one: Your BTS OTTD, the slightly nervous smile and your backpack (decked out in nostalgic merch from your fave childhood cartoon). By graduation, that one photo will have a whole school year’s worth of memories attached to it.
Your class schedule
Your current timetable probs feels like the least sentimental thing ever, but someday seeing AP Bio first period and English right after lunch *might* make you bawl. Bonus tip: Scribble your first impressions beside each class. Which teacher was totally iconic and brought in cupcakes on Fridays? Which class’ HW started off your villain origin story?
A letter to your post-grad self
Write down what you’re excited about, what you’re nervous about and allll your hopes and dreams—trust bestie, *a lot* can change in a year.
Your current playlist

Nothing time-travels quite like music. Jot down the songs you have blasting on repeat, print your playlist cover or make a scannable code that links straight to it (tutorial here, YW!).
A receipt from your fave hangout spot

Your usual boba order or post-practice cheesy fries might not feel historically significant rn, but that’s exactly why they’re worth saving. Keep a receipt from the café, diner or convenience store you’re a regular at. (Def take a trip back there after you graduate for one last hang out with the entire squad).
Messages from your besties
Hand your friends a piece of paper and ask them to write something short n’ sweet (no looking over their shoulder though!). They can include a fave memory, prediction, inside joke or some words of encouragement.
A little piece of school lore
Save one or two little souvenirs from the events that lit you up with school spirit (think: theatre tickets, club flyer, your varsity volleyball kit, even a certificate from Model UN works).
Your senior-year predictions
Time to break out your crystal ball and peer into the future. Who’s going to end up together? Which class will land you your highest grade? What will be the biggest GC drama? Write down 5 to 10 predictions and see how accurate (or spectacularly wrong) you were by June.
One tiny thing from your everyday life

Pick something that currently follows you everywhere: a friendship bracelet, cute keychain, photobooth strip. It doesn’t need to scream senior year, and that’s kinda the point—you’re saving the normal stuff you’d otherwise forget.
Your senior-year bucket list
View this post on Instagram
Write down everything you want to squeeze into your final year: Go to the football game you normally skip, plan an outdoor picnic + movie watch party, try out for the spring musical or plan a road trip with your gal pals. When you reopen your capsule, see how much you actually checked off (and spend your summer vaycay completing the rest!).
Once everything is tucked inside, seal up your capsule and write “DO NOT OPEN UNTIL GRADUATION” across the top in dramatic font. Then stash it somewhere safe (probs under your bed where you’ll resist the urge to touch it because you’re scared of the spiders) and forget about it for the next nine months.
P.S: No sneaky October peeks, girl!
