This just in: Bullet journaling is the new It-girl hobby. This trend adds a fun and creative twist to classic journaling while keeping the “daily check-in” component alive. If you’re looking for a way to keep yourself organized, log all of your fun mems and unlock your creative talent, reading this is already a step in the right direction.
Find Inspo

All bullet journals are unique. Some use washi tape and stickers, while others rely on creative drawings and patterns. To find your vibe, look through Pinterest for some inspo pics. From lace and ribbons to stripes and polka dots, whichever fun style catches your eye is the one you’ll continue to love in the long run.
Choose Your Supplies
Next, choose the journal, markers and stickers/tape you’ll need to recreate your dream bullet setup. Snag a few Sharpies, colored pencils, colored pens and highlighters to decorate the pages from a local craft store, and keep a ruler on hand to make sure your lines are straight and your pages are symmetrical. You can also print out pics of you and your friends or fam to make the journal feel extra special and personal.
Pick The Layout

Here’s the hardest part. There are endless possibilities as to what you can fill your journal with. Do you need pages to journal, sketch or write reminders? Either way, it’s best to plan out the deets *before* you start filling the space.
Look through YouTube tutorials or Pinterest pics to decide how you can put your journal to good use. Some gals love adding motivational quote pages, while others prefer monthly recaps to look back on in the future. If you love both, include both! There are no rules to bullet journaling…except that you should tailor it for you and only you.
Want to keep a schedule of all your homework assignments for the upcoming week? Log your lacrosse practice schedule or musical rehearsals? Set goals and intentions for the year ahead? The options are endless!
Stay Consistent
The worst feeling is spending hours designing your dream bullet journal and then…letting it collect dust on your desk for months. Fill out your to-do list, update your calendar and try to show that journal love every day. Bullet journaling is like a long-term relationship–commitment is key. If you ever start to question if it’s worth your time, think back to why you decided to bullet journal in the first place and remember how much you believed it could change your day-to-day life…because it can!
