We don’t know about you, but bedazzling has been *all* over our FYP’s lately. From makeup brushes to mirrors to Sol de Janeiro bottles, you can bedazzle pretty much anything…and the best part? It’s totally beginner-friendly. Ready to turn your blandest items into sparkling masterpieces? We thought so. Read on to get started on your first project!

Pick Your Project 

Before you start bedazzling, you have to choose what you’re actually bedazzling. We know there’s something in your life that could use a little glitz ‘n glamour, but what? The best way to find inspo is, ofc, scouring your trusty Pinterest FYP (our go-to). Sure, it’s tempting to get crafting on the first adorbs DIY you come across, but keep in mind that it’s your first try. Try to avoid bedazzling objects with words or complex patterns, at least for now. You’ll get there!

Snag Your Supplies 

Tbh, there are so many different ways to apply your gems. For some girls, tubes of glue and tweezers are *everything,* but for beginners? It’s usually easier to use a bedazzling pen. Snag a bedazzling kit that comes with plenty of rhinestones + a pen applicator (you’ll thank us later). And, friendly reminder: make sure the color of the jewels in your kit matches what you’ll be bedazzling for the cutest results. Cheirosa 62 + sunny yellow rhinestones? Say less.

Plan It Out 

Before you dive in, take a sec to plan out what exactly you want your end product to look like. If you’re swapping a whole section of rhinestones for a dainty pattern, draw your design out with a white pencil before you add any jewels to make sure everything stays crisp and clear. (No wandering lines here, TYVM!) And, ofc, always lay out your rhinestones before you get started to make sure you’ll have enough. Realizing you ran out of rhinestones right in the middle of bedazzling your prized possession? Not today!

Get Started

If you’re using glue from a tube, squeeze out a little bit onto part of your item and use your tweezers to stick on jewels wherever you want in that area. Remember, if you’re not bedazzling a full surface, you’ll only need glue in the spots where you actually want to put rhinestones (those lines we drew earlier are coming in handy just about now). If you are going the full-sparkle route, cover your surface in interlocking stripes of jewels for a neat ‘n tidy look. Don’t stress about putting your jewels down in the wrong spot–you can always slide them around after you place them until the glue dries.

Using a bedazzling pen? DW, it’s not complicated. All you do is place a rhinestone and press it down with your pen for about 30 seconds. The heat from the pen will melt the glue on the jewel and stick it on in the easiest *and* least messy way possible. Ready to get bedazzling? Best believe you’re still bejeweled, bb.
