There’s nothing harder than realizing your senior siblings (and maybe BFFs) are headed into adulthood–and college–in just a couple months. While a lot of us are working hard to fight back the tears, many of us are looking to spend the last few days with some fun-packed quality time. From mini sleepovers to late-night 7-Eleven runs, here are several ways you can make a million sib memories in just one summer.
Take Extra Pics Together

Looking to put your digicam to work? There’s no better way to capture all your summer memories than with hundreds of pics. And no, this time we’re not talking about the perfect Insta-worthy photos (although we *do* love those). We’re talking about the candid pictures that bring you right back into the moment with your sib. Print a few out and hang them up in your room because when your sibling is living in another state, it helps to have small mems around your room to remind you of them.
Have A Mini Sleepover

Some of the best mems we have with our siblings are from when we were younger (our fave was getting ice cream after a pool day). Recreate a comforting and care-free night with your OG BFF by having a mini sleepover. And no, we don’t mean just making hot cocoa before bed and then going your separate ways (into your separate rooms). We mean…make a fort with extra blankets and sheets. Don’t forget the best part–jump on the bed!
Revisit Those Family Traditions

You heard us right–family dinners in the backyard are back. While it might be a childhood tradition you and your sib haven’t seen for a few years, who says this summer isn’t the time to bring it back? Family traditions are something you thought would last forever, and while they do…a graduating sibling means they’re going to start looking a little different. So, grab your grapefruit soda, get cozy under the lights with your fam and spend the night feeling like you and your sib are young kids again.
Make One-On-One Plans

Save the group hangouts for later (maybe after your sib moves away) and instead, opt for things you and your OG can do one-on-one. Cafe dates, late-night runs to 7-Eleven or at-home spa days are perfect ways *two* people can hang. Even if it might feel a little awk (guilty!), just remember that these intimate mems are the ones you’ll miss the most…so try to make as many as you can!
Run Errands Together

Having fun *and* staying productive? Sign us right up! This idea is perfect for when you and your sib have busy schedules you just can’t shake. Plus, it can make mundane chores seem not-so-boring and maybe even…fun! Go grocery shopping, restock your makeup essentials or even walk the dog together. We’ve heard that the best memories and inside jokes come from simple tasks and errands. The added bonus? Chores = complete.
Get Crafty and Make Keepsakes

They say the hardest part about a graduating sib is feeling alone when you need their company most. And tbh? That’s something we don’t realize until *after* they’re off to college. Making shared keepsakes like friendship bracelets, framed photo collages or matching car keychains can help you feel like your sibling is still at home with you—even when they’re thousands of miles away. So pull out the markers and glitter from the closet because this summer, you and your sib are going to make keepsakes that will keep you close to each other *forever*.
Most importantly, try your best to get along with your sibling—even if that means having to wave the white flag more often. Since this is your last summer as teens together, you’ll want to make it memorable and unforgettable. Fill it with positive memories and endless laughter because we promise, the goodbye will come faster than you think.
