I got home from school and realized I’d gotten my period. We were out of supplies, so I texted my mom “Code red. I need pads!” A minute later, my mom called to tell me she was on her way home. When I asked her if she had gotten my text, she said no. I looked at my sent messages only to discover I’d texted it to the boy I had been crushing on for a year. Ugh.
