Find the perf workout class with these tips

Looking to sign up for a local workout class? We know how tricky trying to find one can be, plus it can be totally intimidating -- especially if it's at a gym you've never been to before. But don't worry, we've got you covered! costs to finding one with a sched that suits your needs, there are so many things to consider. That's why we created the ultimate checklist of things to think about while you hunt for the perf workout class. Read the list below and check it twice, we're confident you'll find a super fun class that'll help ya meet all those fitness goals!

Do you like the gym or studio options?

When deciding on which fitness class you want to take, it's  important to like what they offer. If you love to do machines, do they have your faves? Is there hot yoga as well as regular yoga? These are important questions to ask yourself before settling down to one option. If you don’t like what they have then don’t waste your time.

Do you feel comfortable?

Feeling comfortable and confident in your surroundings is super important! Look for classes and gyms that other people your age attend so you’re not the youngest person in Zumba by 20 years (it’s happened to us before). Always trusy your gut when it comes to things like this, but don't forget to also take chances -- trying new things is so much fun!

Does it fit your schedule?
Is the gym open during hours of the day that work for you? Are there various times for classes? If you really want to do Pilates at 6 o'clock but work ends at 5:45 pm, it probably isn't going to work. Make a sched of your weekly activities, including time for homework, and then compare it to the different class times you find. You don’t want to have to plan your entire day around making it to the gym before it closes (trust us).

Does it follow your workout pattern?
If you are in pre-season training for basketball, can you do your required workouts with what the class is offering? If you need to build up you endurance, then don’t take yoga, focus on something like spin class or kickboxing. Figure out what your needs are and then find a place that offers them.

How much does it cost?
Before deciding on a class, find out their rates. It’s important to know if you’ll be billed monthly or if it’s a flat rate for a year. Some classes are paid for in cash at the door and some require registration. Make sure to ask for specifics so you don’t have any surprises when the bill comes.

The most important aspect is to make sure you’re having fun! No matter how you decide to work-out, make sure it’s something you enjoy doing. If you hate to dance, don’t do Zumba. If you hate stagnate running, avoid the treadmills. The moment you stop having fun while exercising is the moment you want to stop exercising. Embrace what you love to do and keep on giving your body all it deserves!
