Sick? This FB app tells ya who gave you the flu

Ever wondered why, exactly, you’ve been coughing so much you couldn’t sleep? Or who to point the finger at when you’ve gotta get Mom to phone ya in sick to school? Turns out, there’s an app for that.

Help, my friend gave me the flu analyzes your friends’ statuses and activity to see who the likely culprit is. It looks for words like “cough,” “sick” and “sneezing” in status updates, checks to see if they’ve, well, checked in at a doctor’s office and even monitors the times they post. After all, if you’re on FB in the wee hours, chances are you’re not sleeping well, leaving ya far more vulnerable to catching cold.

If you’re feeling particularly miserable (or grateful—after all, you don’t have to take Mr. Andrews’ pop pre-calc quiz, huzzah!), you can even message your fellow sicky through the app. Just remember not to jump the gun: you need to be in pretty close proximity to someone to catch the flu—think within six feet. So your bestie across the state? Yeah, probs not.

What would you looove to say to the last person who got you sick? Tell us in the comments!
