4 non-boring snacks under 150 calories

With school quickly approaching, you’re gonna need a whole new arsenal of after-school snacks. Before you reach for those Oreos and milk, try one of our totally nutritious (and delicious) mini meals, all of which tally under 150 calories. Beat that, cookies!

Go savory: Whole grain crackers and Laughing Cow light Cheese
Eat one wedge of Light Laughing Cow Cheese with some Hint of Salt Wheat Thins, or other whole grain crackers. The Laughing Cow has so many different flavors, so try out different ones to find your absolute fave!

Something sweet: Chocolate-covered strawberries
Take one tablespoon of semisweet chocolate chips and melt them gently in the microwave, checking every 30 seconds. Stir the chocolate to make sure it’s smooth, then dip strawberries (about 1-cup worth) into the melted chocolate. Place them on a wax-paper lined tray and let chill in your refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to harden. This snack will satisfy your sweet tooth but won’t send you into a sugar overload!

Fill your tummy: Oatmeal with cinnamon and almonds
Take a packet of instant oatmeal and spice it up with a pinch of cinnamon and ¼ cup of almonds. This high-fiber snack will keep you feeling full until dinner.

Get refreshed: Homemade fruit smoothie
Take ¼ cup of low-fat milk, ¼ cup of blueberries, ¼ cup of pineapple, and 1/3 cup of ice. You can switch up the fruits for other faves, but make sure you pay attention to the calories if you want to keep them under 150! Add all of these ingredients into your blender and mix them together for a super tasty treat. Curly straw optional.
