4 alternatives to coffee for your morning pick-me-up

Coffee tastes great, but there are some not-so-great side effects that come with it (too much caffeine is def not good for your bod). Still, cutting down on coffee doesn't mean you have to go without your morning pick-me-up. Keep reading for four coffee alternatives that you can sip on to start your day off right.

Matcha

@kankatrin

Matcha is *def* our go-to green drink. It's high in antioxidants (which keep your cells safe from toxic molecules) and can help improve brain function (straights A's, here you come!). Matcha still has some caffeine in it though, so make sure you don't go overboard.

Infused water

@aishascooking

We all know water's good for your bod, so why not level it up with some strawberry slices? Drinking water first thing in the morning is the best way to start your day since it rids toxins from and boosts your immune system. Throw a little lemon in your cup and you're getting electrolytes, too!

Fruit smoothie

@spoonfulofsisters

*Nothing* tastes as sweet as a good breakfast smoothie. Toss some bananas, a cup of greek yogurt and a tablespoon of flaxseed in your blender and you've got the ultimate morning bev. A fruit smoothie can give you some of the important minerals, vitamins and protein you need to take on the day.

Coconut water

@discoversoneva

If hydration is your aim, then coconut water is your game. Having a cup of it right when you wake up can boost your immunity (colds be gone!) and keep you hydrated. Plus, coconut water is packed with potassium, an uber important electrolyte. We literally can't find a good reason for you *not* to drink coconut water.
