Turn the stairs into your personal gym

No gym? No problem! Gym memberships can be expensive and gymtimidation can be real. The answer to your exercise issue is super simple: stairs! They're free and easily accessible—if you don't have a staircase in your house you can use the bleachers at your school or at a nearby park and try these awesome stair workouts

Warm up.
Before you get into your workout it's important to get your blood pumping and your muscles loose so begin by walking up and down the stairs for three to four minutes.

Run, girl run.
Start at the bottom of the staircase and run up quickly, making sure to pump your arms back and fourth. Safely walk down the steps and repeat.

Work your abs.
Planks on the stairs? Yep—place your hands on a step while your feet are on the ground, so you're in a plank position (The higher the step the easier.) Hold for 30 seconds to one minute at a time.

Drop and give us ten.
From stair plank position bend your elbows, slowly lowering your chest to the step, then extend back up to make one push-up. Aim for 4 sets of 10-12 push-ups.

Jump around!
Start at the bottom of the staircase with your feet hip-width apart. Lower into squat position, swing your arms and hop to the next step with both feet landing at the same time. Repeat until you reach the top of the staircase. Then walk down and go again.

Combine all these moves however you'd like to make a great workout.
