Make your closet back-to-school ready with these simple tips

A new school year is almost here which means early mornings are upon us (sigh). Do you waste precious hours of sleep in order to get up early enough to find the right outfit, that one pair of shoes or your favorite tee to wear to on Monday morning? With these tips on how to organize your closet for the upcoming school year, you'll be *way* more ready to hit the halls in style—and score a few more minutes of sleep, too.

Separate clothing for school and for the weekend.

Different people organize their clothing in different ways, usually based on color, size or style, but have you considered organizing your clothing based on where you would wear each piece? If you separate outfits for school and outfits for the weekends, then you won't have to worry about going through tons of clothing that you can't even wear to school in the first place.

Organize shoes based on how often you wear them.

If you keep your shoes at the bottom of your closet, try to keep the three pairs you wear the most in the front of the closet and then organize the rest in rows behind those three pairs. This set-up makes the shoes in the front easy to put on in the morning and take off after school.

Use old shoeboxes for bras/underwear/socks.

Separate bras, underwear, and socks into three or more shoeboxes and place those shoeboxes in drawers. By organizing them in this way, it will be easier than ever to find what you need.

Stack T-shirts upright in drawers.

Instead of crumpling your tees in a ball and shoving them into a drawer, fold the shirts sideways, as displayed in the picture above, so you can see the image on the front of the shirt. This lay-out makes searching for that perfect T-shirt simple as can be.
