10 dos and don'ts to make him remember you

That sweetie caught your eye, and now you’re straight smitten. But how do you make sure that you’re on his mind as much as he is on yours? Here’s how to leave him daydreaming about you for days on end.

DO smile. Studies have shown that flashing your pearly whites is infectious. The more you smile, the more you’re likely to leave him with a warm ‘n’ fuzzy memory of you.

DON’T slouch. Good posture radiates confidence. And uncross those arms, too. Closed off body language sends signals that you’re bored.

DO keep eye contact. Focus your peepers on his while chatting. Seeming distracted or spaced out while he’s opening up will have him closing out of the convo.

DON’T overlook him. Sounds simple, but if you’re not letting him get a word in or even paying attention to anything he says, he won’t make the effort to talk with you again.

DO put yourself out there. It’s hard to ignore the girl who makes the first move. Introduce yourself and strike up a convo. Better yet, invite him to join the one you’ve already started.  Who doesn’t love feeling included?

DON’T shy away. Name, grade, basic interests, sure, that’s easy enough. But let down your guard a tad, and ‘fess up a not-so-obvious fact or story about yourself. The more you let him in, the more he’ll want to know.

DO spritz yourself. Smell is the strongest tie to memories. If you know you’re going to see him, add a dash of your signature scent before you walk out the door. Just don’t go overkill on the perfume, OK?

DON’T try too hard. Bluffing your indie music knowledge? He can see right through that, babe. And those forced jokes? Unless you’re trying out for stand-up comedy, leave ‘em at the door. Guys want the genuine you.

DO leave on a high note. Friendly and cheery chats will bring him back for sure. Not so much for depressing topics or sarcastic quips. Grumpy Cat makes a great meme, not a great GF.

DON’T get clingy. Liking every Instagram pic, commenting on every Facebook status and texting him a dozen times a day? Whoa, easy now. Keep it light and breezy. Otherwise, he’ll move on and hope you’ll forget him fast.
