Here's a book to read based on your favorite song from Midnights

If you're as obsessed with Taylor Swift's new album as we are, you'll definitely want to have it playing in the background while reading the books we chose for you. Just like Taylor Swift's music, these amazing books will transport you to some glittering worlds and keep you reading *far* past midnight!

Lavender Haze: Belladonna by Adalyn Grace

@authoradalyngrace

Belladonna is a poisonously wonderful read that makes us feel as if the lavender haze is creeping up on us. If you love Bridgerton and Jane Eyre, this gothic fantasy is the perfect pick to match "Lavender Haze."

Maroon: These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong

@a.readeresque.diary

The lyrics in "Maroon" *absolutely* remind us of the romance in These Violent Delights, a Romeo and Juliet retelling set in 1920s Shanghai. Be prepared for a sweeping enemies-to-lovers book with a love so scarlet it turns maroon.

Anti-Hero: The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

@perceivegrace

The will-reading scene in the "Anti-Hero" music video looked like a moment out of our favorite twisty mystery, The Inheritance Games. While Taylor is crystal clear about her will, there *are* many secretly encoded messages that mean something else. Happy riddle-solving...

Snow on the Beach: Family of Liars by E. Lockhart

@haleysshelf

This dreamy Taylor Swift/Lana Del Rey collab would be the *perfect* backdrop for Family of Liars, which is set on a private island and follows the privileged, secretive Sinclair family. The prequel to We Were Liars is perhaps as ethereal and unique as "Snow on the Beach."

You're On Your Own, Kid: Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli

@morristownbooksta

This song stands out just like Stargirl! Both the book and song deal with themes of staying true to yourself, loneliness and insecurity. We can easily imagine our favorite main character Stargirl singing "You're On Your Your Own, Kid" while playing her ukulele.

Midnight Rain: Fireworks by Alice Lin

@getunderlined

This is the perfect read for fans of K-Pop and romance. The book follows Lulu Li, who has her entire summer before college planned. That is, until Kite, her childhood friend-turned-K-Pop-star, returns to town. Has her friend-turned-star changed like "Midnight Rain?" You'll have to read yourself to find out...

Question...?: Coverup Crush by Kelly Anne Blount and Lynn Rush

@lynnrushwrites

We're obsessed with Coverup Crush, a YA romance about a star football player, Jace Rovers, who has a secret...he's a famous anonymous romance writer. When he gets busted, goth girl McKenna Storm covers for him, igniting a ruse and a romance that poses a lot of questions.

Vigilante Sh*t: They Wish They Were Us by Jessica Goodman

@oktoberdots

As soon as we heard "Vigilante Sh*t," we thought of the prep school thriller They Wish They Were Us. With a not-so-secret society, a twisty plot and characters dressing for revenge, we 100% can hear this song playing in the book's TV adaptation starring Sydney Sweeney and Halsey.

Bejeweled: Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor

@thebibliophilegamer

Enchanted elevators? Glittering gowns? Cabaret dances? Say no more! Taylor Swift's *shimmering* music video "Bejeweled" is like a scene out of Hotel Magnifique. Best believe that this sparkling debut will sweep you away to a whole new world!

Labyrinth: Lightlark by Alex Aster

@subakka.bookstuff

After listening to "Labyrinth," we felt as if we were in the sweeping world of Lightlark, filled with curses, romance and perilous trials. Quoting Taylor Swift, "Uh oh, our main character *might* fall in love." Only in this BookTok-famous fantasy novel, love can be deadly.

Karma: Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer

@marissameyerauthor

Instant Karma is a perfect enemies-to-lovers YA romance that follows Prudence Barnett, a girl who can bring instant karma—except to her insufferable lab partner Quint Erickson! This romantic book is the perfect match to our new fave Taylor Swift song since the main character literally *is* karma.

Sweet Nothings: The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

@belreadss

We are still obsessed with Taylor Swift's songs on "The Summer I Turned Pretty." Whether you're Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah, it's clear that "Sweet Nothings" is the perfect credit roll song for season two and the ideal backing track for a series re-read.

Mastermind: Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber

@stephanie_garber

"Mastermind" swept us away to the world of Once Upon a Broken Heart and reminded us of a swoon-worthy romance. The enchanting fairy tale world of Caraval + Taylor Swift music = the perfect reading sesh.
