Calling all Wicked Wonderland fangirls! Turns out we won’t have to wait too long ’til the sixth epic addition to the Descendants universe.
Disney announced today that a fresh Descendants flick—Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story—is going into production next week. It’s hard to say what we’re most excited for: The next fairy tale realm to become reality? Another set of irresistibly catchy songs? New dances that are sure to fill our feeds?

A New Enchanted Hideout
The setting of the next Descendants film def explains the “Hidden” half of the title—seems that the children of Disney’s most iconic sidekicks are tucked out of sight. Needless to say, this isn’t Auradon Prep or Wonderland…
According to Disney’s latest announcement, the descendants of sidekicks attend a secret training center—Sidekick Academy—by way of a portal at the center of each fairy tale realm. Here, sidekicks have the opportunity to level up to full-on heroes. But the arrival of a villainous duo causes chaos and prompts an unlikely band of sidekick kids (shall we call them SKs?!) to form an alliance to save the world.
Hidden Heroes sets itself apart from the rest of the franchise’s films by existing in a realm separate from parents and heroes. Descendants fans are familiar with characters’ struggles to live up to (or defy) their parents’ expectations. But we can expect that a rescue mission *beyond* those parental influences will shine the spotlight fully on each sidekick and their special skills.

The Sidekicks Taking Center Stage
As per this a.m.’s announcement, the main cast of Hidden Heroes will include:
🖤 Dior Goodjohn as Jennie (the daughter of Genie from Aladdin)
💜 Eva Fossaceca Smedley as Meri (the daughter of Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty)
🖤 Harry Jones as Lou (the son of Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast)
💜 Momona Tamada as Zara (the daughter of Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove)
🖤 Jacob Rodriguez as Kronk Jr. (the son of Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove)
More additions from the universe of Beauty and the Beast (we miss you, King Ben!) include Rhys Dawkins, Connor Wong and Kyra Wong as the Potts siblings. And judging by the Smee twins’ v. silly moments in Wicked Wonderland, we predict these three will lighten the crew’s load with some laughter.
This set of characters has us theorizing about what new powers these sidekicks must harness to level up to hero status. Either way, we’re counting down the days until these heroes are no longer hidden.
