We've got our Heart Made Up On R5's new EP

Listen up, GL babes! R5 just released their Heart Made Up On You EP and it is To. Die. For. With just four songs, this release will totally hold you over until R5 drops their second album on September 30. Read on for our track-by-track review of the gang’s awesome new EP.

“Heart Made Up On You

This tune is all kinds of groovy. The piano is classic and cool, and the song’s message is super simple to follow: your crush is bad for you, but you go for ‘em anyway. Been there, done that! The heart wants what the heart wants, right? We think R5 would agree.

“Things Are Looking Up

This track is like a little shot of optimism and happiness. R5 knows how amazing it is to have that special someone by your side so they let it out in a song. The intense drums are crazy cool and keep us pumped up while lyrics like, “You were a business, I was a start up / You were like high speed, I was on dial up / I needed caffeine, you were a Starbucks” keep us on our toes.

“Easy Love”

With an old-school vibe and a dance-y beat, R5 makes it easy for us to love this jam. The lyrics are on point, ‘cause just like Noah and Allie in The Notebook, we want a love that we have to work for. As R5 says, easy love just ain’t fun. Listen ‘til the very end for a hilarious behind-the-scenes clip of the band attempting to record the song.

“Stay With Me”

Everything about this song is perfect, right down to the background vocals. The beginning starts out slow and then builds to an intense chorus. The band definitely shows off their singing skills and lyrical talent with this sentimental song, too. We already have this one on repeat!

As if this EP wasn’t enough, R5 is going on tour too and we seriously cannot wait. It all kicks off September 3 in Orlando, FL. Grab your tickets here. And don’t forget to grab the band’s newest EP on iTunes right now!
