Bad News Bears (1976 and 2005—we love them both!)

This classic was remade almost 30 years after the original, and we heart them both. It’s a funny movie about a team of misfits who are trying to play baseball, but they have a serious losing streak. The team is saved when the coach recruits more players—and one of them is a girl!  Who says throwing like a girl is a bad thing?

    The Sandlot (1993)

From name calling to running from “The Beast,” this movie had us cracking up the whole time. It’s about a boy who’s new to town and joins the neighborhood baseball league. Will he prove himself to be a valuable member of the team? Well, you’ll have to watch to find out.

Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch (2002)

Baseball + a dog and his puppies = one great flick. We heart Disney’s Air Bud because it’s so sweet and heart warming. The cute pooch helps Andrea learn to play ball once she joins the junior high team…but then he disappears. How will she get Buddy back? She can’t play without him!

    Benchwarmers (2006)

The dude who played Napoleon Dynamite stars in this movie, so you know it’ll get you laughing! This hilarious flick is a classic tale of the underdog making it to the top. Watch as Gus and his buds defeat Gary’s team.

    Moneyball (2011)

This is a great movie to watch with your dad or older bro over the weekend. Based on a true story, this flick is about trying to form a baseball team on a tight budget. Also, to choose players, Billy Beane (played by Brad Pitt!) uses a computer program to figure out which ones are good, which sparks a controversy. Check it out!
