Miley's got some huge news about the 2015 MTV VMAs

Remember how Miley Cyrus's twerking at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards were the dance moves heard about around the world? Well, she's back for this year's show—and even bigger than ever.

Last night, Miley took to Instagram to share a hilarious pic and announce some out-of-this-world news: she's hosting the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

Miley will be the first host of the VMAs since 2012, but as we all know it won’t be her first time owning the stage. Even she hasn’t forgotten her controversial 2013 performance with Robin Thicke, which she jokes about in her Instagram post. And Miley made headlines for her MTV VMA appearance last year, too, when she brought a homeless teen named Jesse as her date and even had him accept her Video of the Year award on her behalf.

Lately, Miley's been all about giving back, and has even started her own charity called the Happy Hippie Foundation. According to Miley, the Happy Hippie Foundation aims "to fight the injustices faced by homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations."

Though Miley's definitely grown out of her old good-girl image, we're excited by all the awesome philanthropic work she's been doing in the past few months, and we can't wait to see what she uses her platform to spotlight at this year's MTV VMAs—and maybe she can throw in just a little twerking for old time's sake.

MTV also released this year's nominations and certain stars seem like they'll win big. Taylor Swift takes the lead with an impressive nine nominations (including Best Video of the Year for "Bad Blood") and Ed Sheeran is close behind with a solid six (he's even competing against Tay for Best Video for his song "Thinking Out Loud"). Beyoncé also is up for five awards (again including Best Video for "7/11") and Ariana Grande got two noms for her collaborations with The Weeknd ("Love Me Harder") and Jessie J and Nicki Minaj ("Bang Bang"). Check out the full list here and vote for your favorites to win.

Do you think Miley will be a good host at this year's Video Music Awards? Which nominees are you rooting for? Don't forget to tune in to MTV on August 30th at 9:00 p.m. to see how it all plays out.
