4 fresh ways to wear shorts and tights

Who wants to give up their fave summer staples just ‘cause the weather’s turnin’ chilly?  Instead of sending your shorts to the back of your drawer, try rocking them with a pair of tights and some other cool weather items.  You’ll be showin’ off your awesome legs without worrying about shivering on the walk from the bus to your house!

Go girly with a patterned pair

Patterned shorts are awesome in the summer: they’re the perfect statement piece to throw on with a tee and some Toms.  When the temp starts dropping, turn your fave patterned cutoffs into a pretty posh outfit by adding a bright collared shirt and some solid, opaque tights.  Sparkly flats are the perfect mix of glam and comfy and look oh-so chic.  Simple jewelry finishes off a wild but ladylike look that you can rock anytime.

Go Western cutie in cords

Put a spin on plain old cutoffs by trying corduroy instead of regular denim.  They’ll look totally cozy and cute with a silky plaid top and some brown tights.  Cowboy boots will give you a Western outdoorsy feel that’s perfect for fun weekend trips apple picking or walks through crunchy leaves with your bestie.  Try a set of bangles made out of different material like wood, metal and plastic that will look totally down-to-earth and relaxed.

Go rocker chic with embellished pockets

Tights are a great way to rock shorts that might be shorter than you usually wear. Because of the freedom to go shorter, try a pair with embellished pockets peeking out, like these! The gold sequins give just a hint of edge, so use the rest of outfit to highlight your tough side.  A studded headband, a skull tank and a high top all give off a too-cool vibe that looks great all by itself or under a leather jacket.

Go cozy boho in printed tights

Wearing your worn-in denim cutoffs gives you the perfect opportunity to get a pair of daring, patterned tights.  Try a light-wash short with a dark tight to really let your gams take the lead.  A cozy sweater and combat boots look relaxed and tone down the crazy.  Throw on a pretty chain necklace for a simple touch that gives your outfit just the right amount of glitz.
