Avoid the Post-Holiday Blues!

The build-up to the winter festivities is major: months of shopping, endless decorations and carols for days. With all that hype, the holidays are filled with excitement and, often times, a teeny bit of let down once they’re over. Ya go straight from the hustle and bustle to back to school. Here’s how to stay cheery, even after all the stockings are stashed away.

Sport a new scent
A fab fragrance can help keep those spirits lifted, even when the days are crazy short. We like roller ball versions of our fave fragrances—they’re way more affordable and you can tuck them in your purse.

Go for a walk around the block
Trying to stick with your eat-right resolution? Turns out, taking a walk can help crush cravings. The next time you’re about to dig in to a pile of Doritos or are just feelin’ bummed, bundle up and move around.

Rock those socks
Embrace the little things you got over the holidays, whether it’s wacky new socks or a sweater that you’re not so sure is your style. Over time, it just may become a piece you can’t live without.
Heart Ankle Socks, $4, forever21.com

Give back
If you’re feeling a little bit bummed, being sweet to the world around you will help give you a boost. Volunteer to shovel a neighbor’s driveway, sign up for a shift at the soup kitchen or give away some clothes you’ve outgrown.

Hang those hearts
It can be a drag to take down all the festive lights and seasonal regalia. Keep your spot lookin’ sweet by hanging up a string of heart, Valentine’s Day lights in your room.
