5 insta-gorgeous tips for girlies with glasses

Sure, eyes are the windows to the soul, but it’s hard to show ‘em off when they’re hiding behind thick frames. Follow these tried-‘n’-true tips to make those peepers shine—even if you’re rocking glasses!

Tip #1: Conceal dark circles

We’ve probably mentioned this product on more than one occasion, but we only do because this product definitely delivers! Apply Maybelline’s DreamLumi Touch Highlighting Concealer under your eyes, and using your ring finger, carefully blend the product out. You should notice an instant glow to those eyes like you’ve had 10+ precious hours of beauty sleep.

Tip #2: Define your brows

Because your brows frame your glasses, it is very important that they be well groomed. Use a darker brow shade so that they balance out your glasses (which typically come in darker colors). This eyebrow pencil by Rimmel has a convenient brush cap that you can use to comb and tuck stray brow hairs back into place!

Tip #3: Use a mineral or powder foundation
Liquid foundations tend to have more slip, which means that your glasses might slide around on your face throughout the school day. Try dusting a mineral or powder foundation all over your face, using your fingertips to lightly press the product into your skin.

Tip #4: Use a warm-toned eyeshadow

Balance out the cool tones of your glasses with a warm-toned eyeshadow (or vice versa if you have warm-toned glasses like brown frames). Avoid eyeshadows that have chunky pieces of glitter (which might reflect back on the glasses). Instead, opt for a pretty, finely-milled shimmer! We like browns with red undertones, golds and bronzes for those lids. Try L’Oreal’s Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush. This shadow has a unique powder-cream texture and is also waterproof, crease resistant and fade resistant. Using your finger, pick up a little bit of the product and blend it onto your lids. Easy!

Tip #5: Pick a volumizing mascara

This combo should really make your eyes pop! Instead of reaching for a lengthening mascara, pick up a volumizing mascara. Each lash should be full and fluttery so that your eyes can peep out behind those frames!
