Love these looks: 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards

This awards show season has focused heavily on two things: honoring the best in film and television (of course) and speaking out—the 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards were no different.

We all remember the Time's Up pins, black gowns and Oprah's inspiring speech at the Golden Globe Awards. The NAACP Image Awards in and of themselves serve to honor those that ingnite change. The SAGs, however, were much subtler. Rather than Oprah's impassioned "a new day is on the horizon" declaration, the night was peppered with moments that leaned into Natalie Portman's lowkey "and here are the all-male nominees" shade.

Big Little Lies actress Nicole Kidman emphasized the importance of financially supporting women's stories in her acceptance speech, while also praising trailblazing actresses such as Meryl Streep and Jane Fonda. There were still a few of Time's Up pins on display with Allison Williams (Get Out) and Gina Rodriguez (Jane The Virgin) both sporting theirs. And while accepting his award, William H. Macy (Shameless) notably said about telling the truth through acting, "It's our job—under those imaginary circumstances—to find the truth. I think it's a glorious way to make a living, especially in this day in age when so may people either can't recognize the truth or don't think it's important."

They even changed things up this year by adding a host, none other than the charming Kristen Bell (Anna from Frozen, ofc!). The show also featured female-only presenters (aside from the male actors that presented their films nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture).

Below, our favorite looks and moments of the night.

Millie Bobby Brown (above)

This double nominee looked fierce rocking space buns, bows and classic Chucks. The only thing missing? Her boyf, singer Jacob Sartorius—Millie recently revealed that her and the Musical.ly star are dating! The 13-year-old was nominated for Female Actor in a Drama Series and Ensemble in a Drama Series for her work as Eleven in Stranger Things, though she didn't take home a trophy.

Yara Shahidi

The Black-ish and Grown-ish actress has been killin' the red carpet game lately, but she stepped it up a notch last night in natural hair, a deep red lip and a black jumpsuit complete with a *major* bow and train. And we bet that glow she was rocking was thanks to Grown-ish being picked up for a second season!

Saoirse Ronan

Just like MBB, Saoirse was pretty in pink last night! The Irish actress was among a group of outrageously talented women—including I, Tonya's Margot Robbie—nominated for Female Actor in a Leading Role, which she lost to Frances McDormand (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri). Lady Bird was also nominated for Cast in a Motion Picture and again the W went to Three Billboards.

Marsai Martin

Talk about all grown up! The brainy Johnson sib on Black-ish made it clear that it *is* possible to roll up in a look that's both gorg and age appropriate. We're getting all the prom inspo from this one!

Brie Larson

Does this future Capitan Marvel actress ever not look stunning?! A co-creator of the Times Up movement, tonight Brie presented the biggest award of the night for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture with Lupita Nyong'o.

Natalia Dyer

Another amazing look from another ST star! Nancy Wheeler looked *more* than fab in this '50s-inspired, celestial gown.

Beanie Feldstein

Saoirse's Lady Bird costar (and Jonah Hill's sis!) gave us major old Hollywood vibes with her soft, sideswept curls. She's even rocking her dress from her junior prom in honor of her character in the film, Julie!

Samira Wiley

This former Orange Is the New Black star and current The Handmaids Tale actress was the definition of "jaw-dropping" in her out-of-this-world print. We're heart eyes over this look!

Margot Robbie

Another double-nominee, Margot let her pale pink, feathered, bedazzled gown do the talking last night. It gave us ice dancer vibes in the best way!
