If you’re looking for two girls out there who are reaching
for the stars and achieving their goals, it’s
Ali and Christina Christensen.
These two sisters are duet singers with massive talent and great potential to
shoot to the top as both musical icons and inspirational leaders.
America got to know Ali and Christina, from Idaho Falls,
Idaho, a little better when they were contestants on America’s Got Talent in 2010.
“It was like no other experience,” Christina says. In
addition to hearing their beautiful voices week after week, the country also
learned about Ali and Christina’s uphill battle. Ali, 22, and Christina, 15,
were both diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a genetic lung disease, when they
were young. They undergo treatment daily to deal with their disease, but
they’re determined to not let CF stand in their way.
With a singing teacher for a mom, Ali and Christina have
been surrounded by music since they were little—and they’ve been dedicated to
it for as long as they can remember.
Although the girls didn’t win, they did hit a 24-city tour
with the other top 10 contestants, and spent their time enjoying the sights and
getting a taste of what they hope their future holds. So far, they’ve released
the music video for “Something About Me”—a GL exclusive (watch it HERE).
“We hope this song brings awareness to Cystic Fibrosis
because not a lot of people are familiar with the disease,” says Ali. “We want
this song to inspire people, whether it’s someone who has Cystic Fibrosis or
someone with a different challenge or struggle.”
With bubbly personalities and great voices, these girls are
destined for greatness. The sisters are currently working on an EP and dreaming
of other goals. Ali, who goes to Brigham Young University, is studying
broadcast journalism and hopes to be on Good Morning America someday.
Christina, on the other hand, wants to pay it forward as a paramedic or pediatrician.
Good luck, girls!
