Fall is my fave season. It’s perfect for outdoor activities, like hiking, biking (I just got a new bike, btw, more on that later!) and apple-picking. The air is super-crisp and I can wear sweaters and scarves all the time. Plus, it’s my b-day month (I was born the day before Halloween). Which leads me to my current dilemma....
How can I avoid all this candy corn? Candy bowls always frighten me. On one hand, it seems easy to avoid (just don’t take it!). But I normally fall into the other category...I’ll just have one. And then another. And then.... Ugh. Am I the only one who falls into this sticky, trick o’ treat trap?
Since I’m a pretty healthy eater, having the occasional sweet won’t ruin my vibe. The prob? I’ll eat candy corn (and those nasty candy pumpkins) even though I don’t like them. WHY?
This year, I’m gonna attack the issue from a different angle: With my chompers. Instead of reasoning “This sugar is empty calories and isn’t gonna fuel your body,” (which hasn’t worked in the past), I’m gonna think “Seriously, you only get one set of teeth. Do you wanna wreck them with THIS?” It’s time to bust out the floss.
Healthy Hearts,
Katie A.
