How to throw the best Halloween party ever

The countdown is ON for the spookiest night of the year. Luckily, there's still time to plan a bash...or add some haunted twists to the party you're already hosting. Ready for a totally fun night that's filled with surprises? Keep reading, ghoul.

Kiss the Frankenstein

Oh yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Hang up a giant picture of Frankenstein on the wall (print one out or buy one at a poster shop or discount store). Then, give each of your friends a lipstick from the dollar store--every girl should have her own color. Blindfold one girl at a time, spin her around and then let her take her best shot at kissing the Frankenstein. Whoever gets closes to his lips wins.

Paint Next-Level Pumpkins

Is there anything prettier than glittery gourds (see above)? Um, nope. Paint glue or Mod Podge onto the pumpkin base and then dip it into a bucket of glitter. Let dry and enjoy. If you want to get super crafty, make cute designs with the glue before you dip. This is super fun to do with friends (just have them pick up their pumps the next day) or paint a few a couple days before your get-together and wow your girls with the orange 'n' gold decorations.

Make it a Costume Contest

Up the stakes on the costumes by letting your guests know there will be a prize for the best dressed. The twist? You all pick whose costume you like the best (think: fewer hurt feelings). Create a ballot and have everyone vote for the best costume. Whoever wins gets a Starbucks gift card for one #PSL.

Serve Spooky Punch

Hollow out a pumpkin and serve your sips out of that for extra effect. Get the how-to HERE.

Go Beyond Candy

Watching a horror flick to end the night? Instead of letting your friends tear into another round of mini Snickers, try some other tasty treats. Consider baking pumpkin seeds and serving those alongside some cider. Or whip up a batch of candy-corn studded popcorn balls, which are festive and tasty. Catch the recipe HERE.
