This just in: We're getting more Harry Potter from J.K. Rowling!

Throw on your robes and grab your wands, witches, because we're ready to jump back into the Harry Potter world, and we don't just mean the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them flick.

Earlier today, author J.K. Rowling announced on through Twitter that she had a new Harry Potter project in the works—and this one's a play. Called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the play will tell a new story for Rowling's wizarding world, and though she's not ready to spill on much more than that, she admits that it's not going to be a prequel.

Rowling decided to share the news today because it's the eighteenth anniversary of the first UK publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (happy birthday, PS and, BTW, same to Matthew Lewis who played Neville in the films!), and we couldn't be more excited. The hugely popular author is teaming up with writer Jack Thorne, director John Tiffany and Sonia Friedman to tell the story hitting the stage in London next year.

"I don't want to say too much more," J.K. wrote, "because I don't want to spoil what I know will be a real treat for fans.... To answer one inevitable (and reasonable!) question - why isn't #CursedChild a new novel? I am confident thta when audiences see the play they will agree that it was th eonly proper medium for the story."

Um, exactly how early is too early to book our plane tickets to hop across the pond? We don't care what we have to do to get there—we'll be ready and waiting in the front row.

Are you excited to hear the new HP news? Because we're basically freaking out! Join us in the comments.
