7 essentials you can't forget to pack for vacay

Spring break is here and you've put off packing until the last minute. We get it, packing is stressful, especially because the weather in March can vary so widely (one minute, you're in a skirt and the next, you're pulling on your parka). If you've left packing until the night before and you're still trying to figure out your game plan, don't worry-–we came up with a fab list for all the things that should be in your bag before you jet off.

Cute bathing suit

Whether you’re lying on the beach in Florida or at a resort in the mountains, a bathing suit is a necessity. Even if it's cold out, you never know when there might be an indoor pool or hot tub where you can get into that summer spirit.

Comfy kicks

Sure, you want to look cute in case a dreamy boy comes by, but you'll thank us later for when you're wearing a pair of sneakers or Keds instead of trekking around in those (admittedly super cute) wedges. After all, who knows if that cute boy will want to take a walk down the boardwalk, go bike riding or hike around a lake?

Shower and bathroom essentials

The hotel will probably have shampoo and a bar of soap, but have you seen how tiny those little containers are? Plus, what if they skimp on the conditioner or body lotion? Whatever you need in the morning to get ready, keep it handy in your duffle bag just in case. If it's not one of those super fancy hotels with honey-seaweed-vanilla shampoo, you'll be glad you brought your own. Hotels normally have hair dryers, but we've yet to come across one with a straightener.

Chargers

If you plan on bringing your tablet, laptop and your cell phone, make sure you check, double check, and triple check that you have all your chargers. The only thing worse than having no phone with you is having a dead phone. (Besides, how else are you supposed to Insta all the best parts of your trip to make all your buds back home jealous?)

Sunscreen

Whether you're hitting the beach or heading out for a hike, any outdoor activities can expose you to nasty UV rays. Even if the sun isn't shining, you can still accidentally burn to a crisp if you're not careful, so slather on the SPF before heading outside. Plus, if you get a kind that smells good you won't even have to put on perfume or body spray.

A hoodie

This might sound like a no-brainer, but it's easy to get excited about being outside in the sun and forget about how chilly it can get at night. Or in the movie theater. Or just at a restaurant. Whether or not you think you'll need it, it's always best to have a sweatshirt or hoodie just in case. Plus, as romantic as it might seem to imagine that cutie offering you his jacket during a light night walk on the pier, it's better to be prepared.

Pretty dress

No matter where you're going, you'll want to have the option to take your outfit to the next level. After all, you're on break and a night away is the perfect opportunity to make it a special occasion. Even if you don't go somewhere nice, you can always just class it up lounging by the pool.
