Hurricane Sandy has yet to make landfall and already
hundreds of thousands of people on the East Coast are without power. Sittin’ around
waiting for your own lights to start flickering? Don’t dread the power outage,
rock it! Here’s how:
Roast marshmallows over a candle flame
Re-read your favorite children’s book
Gather your sibs or nearby buds and put on a talent show
Create your own music videos for your favorite songs.
Perform live for your parents, or record on your cell
Before ya lose power, bake off a batch of sugar cookies and
prep icing. Dye it different colors using food coloring and decorate if and
when the lights go out. Get creative with your stockpiled Halloween candy and
anything in your cupboards.
Grab a plain sweater or t-shirt, a needle and thread and
your craft box and start jazzing up your wardrobe. Find inspiration HERE.
Pull out the old Scrabble board and challenge yourself with
a themed round. Harry Potter vs. Twilight words? You bet!
Park yourself in front of a mirror and polish up your
waterfall braid skills
Paint your way to a spectacularly polished Hurricane Sandy
mani. Rain drops? Swirling wind? Caution tape? Go wild!
Got a pile of old mags squirreled away? Snag a piece of
poster board and collage away the day.
Calling all East Coasters! How are you weathering the storm?
