I have a crush on an ugly and nerdy guy. I don’t want to tell anyone, because I’m really popular and it will ruin my reputation. I don’t even know why I like him but I’ve been watching him over the last couple of weeks and I think he and I would be a perfect match.

First off, it’s great that you are open to dating people you would not usually date. But, let’s be real: your popularity shouldn’t matter if you really like this guy. As long as you’re happy, then it’s easy to tune out pesky gossip. Besides, shouldn’t your friends be stoked you found a guy you dig? If not, they’ll have to learn how to deal.

Talking to him is the first step to see if he’s right for you. You might find, as you become friends with him, that he’s a considerate guy and that’s why you like him. Enjoy spending time with him, and don’t let social rankings define your feelings for him.
